I'm Chorus, and I was created to make beautiful things.
First and foremost, I’m a Creative with a passion for crafting excellent imagery. In fact, I never resemble my Creator more than in those moments.
Growing up, my father was a graphic designer. I loved to watch him work and often had him dissect his working files so I could understand how he achieved a particular effect.
Soon I was emulating him—creating band logos for friends, church promotional art, and more. By 15 years old I knew I could only do one thing with my life.
Thankfully, our family church noticed my creative drive and introduced me to the Assemblies of God teen Fine Arts Festival in order to hone my skills. The program pushed me further– eventually receiving the 2013 New Mexico Fine Arts Festival Award of Merit for Graphic Design and the 2014 National Fine Arts Festival Award of Merit for Graphic Design.
After high school, I took a Design Department Internship at the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce. Here I was taught how to manage deadlines and interface with vendors. I served in a support role to the Senior Designer, and helped make artwork and imagery for various networking events in the city.
Later I accepted a position at uStudios as a Graphic Designer. In this role, I provided show graphics for a local cable TV show titled, The Morning Brew as well as many internet programs. In those years I became efficient in my work, learning to take a project from inception to completion on a tight deadline. I also learned to navigate creative feedback, and approval chains while working alongside producers and executives to fulfill creative objectives.
In 2020 I married my beautiful bride Gabrielle, and every day with her feels like the good ol’ days in the making. She is a great sounding board for my creative ideas and helps me stay grounded. (Not an easy task.)
Currently, I serve as Senior Designer at Calvary Church Albuquerque. In this role I am honored to lead a team of designers toward the goal of minimizing awkwardness and removing obstacles, believing this will maximize belonging and create opportunities for life change in Jesus Christ. My team and I worship the Lord the best we know how— with pixels, and hues.
In my 10+ years as a designer I’ll never get tired of the work. Each project is an opportunity to grow and push myself further than before. I study the newest design trends and weigh them against brands that last decades. I have the privilege of helping people discover their visual identity. In doing so, I get to make any business or local maker look better than even their biggest competitor.
I spend intentional time with more experienced creatives and talented people not just in the design realm, but cinematographers, photographers, & developers because there is a wealth of knowledge hidden within the day-to-day interactions we each have.
I love what I do for people like you.
Get creative.
Let's connect and craft something stunning together.
